Pride of the South Side

STAYING AT THE TOP OF THE GAME Eleven PLJ English teachers attended the National Council of Teachers of English 100th Annual Conference, held in Chicago at the Hilton and Palmer House hotels. Our teachers learned more about the Common Core Standards and gained a host of new strategies to make classes more challenging and to address the needs of all students. The department, chaired by Ms. Elsa Davenport, attended in full force in order to stay on top of their game. |

SERVICE LEARNING KICKS OFF IN FEBRUARY ATTENTION ALL STUDENTS Our service learning grade level projects will begin in February. Make sure all of your hours are recorded before Winter-Break. We are going to LAUNCH our grade level projects and you must know how many hours you need. |

ACCELERATION LABS OPEN AT JULIAN The Acceleration Lab strategy is funded by the School Improvement Grant awarded to transform Percy L. Julian High School. Students will focus on College Readiness Reading and Mathematics Standards. Students will learn in small group settings, enriched with technology. Go JAGUARS! |
